Stained Glass
Stained Glass
In 1977 I saw a piece of stained glass that so inspired me I immediately obtained the tools and glass necessary to produce my own windows. It was a fairly laborious process for a short time (requiring lots of band-aids) but then stained glass became a passion that hasn't seemed to diminish. Commissions began coming in early which keep me happily involved with stained glass and all the advances in glass technology. I also continue to enjoy commissioned work.
Copper Work

Copper Works
Browsing through a salvage shop a few years ago I spied a few odd pieces of sheet copper that seemed just right for a project so the copper Beach Scenes were born. Each copper piece begins with a sketch from which a pattern is made. I then cut the individual pieces from rolls of sheet copper, hammering them to give depth, shape and personality. Each of the sculptures is mounted on a copper tubing frame making them sturdy and strong enough to hang inside or out. Every piece has a different copper sun with warmth, glow and perhaps a breeze, just right for the scene. The pieces are then hand-painted with a final touch of glitter added to put the sunshine in.

Painting

Painting
Recently I've had a yen to paint but didn't want to work on canvas. We needed a table for our porch so I though, ah ha, why not paint a table. Thus was conceived the tropical table with bamboo legs that's a perfect height at 24". Painting furniture is so enjoyable I've continued to seek out well built pieces with character that I give new life with a little elbow grease and paint. Our house is small with not much room for storing things but the urge to paint hadn't subsided so the beach vignettes came about. They're 1' x 1' squares of plywood; brightly colored little snapshots from my mind.
